Our Work
In all its interventions, Aasra Welfare Association emphasizes sustainable development in order to build a better, equitable, and eco-friendly society. We are aware of the plight of waste pickers and the financial and social injustices they have endured over the years. In response to this unmet needs, Aasra was founded by Mr. Haider Ali Sayyed in order to provide the safai sathis a dignified and better quality of life. At the same time, we are trying to provide sustainable waste management solutions, which will fill in the gaps currently present in the urban setup. Dive in to know more about our work. The Safai Sathis are dear to our hearts. Throughout the years, we have regularly organized events to lead them to a healthy and hygienic lifestyle as well as give them a platform as a community to include in the formal waste management system. We work to ensure respect and dignity for Safai Sathis.
We sort mixed dry waste into 92 + categories of materials systematically and structurally with the help of an experienced Team by using extensive knowledge of material identification. With this we aim to decrease pollution and create a healthy living environment.
By providing a forum for Municipal corporations, aggregators, recyclers, waste pickers, funding partners and other stakeholders to recognize and acknowledge each other’s contribution to the society. This also gives us a chance to celebrate the work and contributions of Safai Sathis in saving the environment.
