Material Recovery Facility (MRF)

Material recovery facilities (MRFs) accept dry waste materials to further segregate and process as per the end-recyclers requirements. The processed materials then further used for manufacturing new products, upcycling and even reusing.
The earlier we separate and process waste, the better the resource recovery and lower transportation and processing costs. So, decentralized MRFs at ward level is the best way of handling urban waste.

To support decentralized waste handling process, Aasra Welfare Association works closely with the Urban Local Bodies in order to process the waste through the MRF chain so that nothing worth recycling goes to waste. We work with our Safai Sathis to accomplish the goal and our background team helps Safai Saathis to formalize the process of material recovery and also works for spreading awareness about the need for waste segregation. With time, we aim to make our city more sustainable for our generation to come.
